Student Tech Buzz 4/14-4/18

A hole in Open SSL was discovered last week that allows a hacker to steal information from sites that were presumed safe.  What does this mean for you? Some of your passwords need to be changed! Check out the link for a facts relating to the SU community.

Collapse Lesser Used Modules to Save Space!

SU's Bb just went through a bit of spring cleaning, but there is still a lot of information right when you land on the "Courses" page. That's because that information is important! However, not all of the information is going to be necessary for you to read every time you want to check out your courses.

The easiest way for you to further declutter your "Courses" tab is simply to collapse the modules that you do not currently need. By collapsing modules, you will save a ton of space on your screen!

To collapse modules on the "Courses" page, just click the arrow to the left of the module name.
Organize your "Course List" by Semester!

Where the above article offered a great pro-tip for saving space on the "Courses" tab, this article will be about keeping your "Course List" module organized.

Now you can click on the settings of the "Course List" (The module that you use to access your courses) and organize your courses by term, which can reduce visual cluttering if you have a large course list.

You can accomplish this by taking the following steps:
  • Hover your mouse over the "Course List" module name.
  • When the settings icon appears, click on it.
  • Click "Group by Term" and then click submit
